We were looking at a 3BHK residential interior design project at Pratishtha
Heights, Kudasan, Gandhinagar, on a fixed budget, no room to overspend. The
one thing I was clear about from the start: our pooja space had to feel considered
and unique, not just a corner we’d fill in later.
Devang Patel lives in Australia, making this a genuine NRI home interior design project from
start to finish. Every decision, every material, every layout choice, had to happen without him
walking through the space himself. That’s the real story here: designing a home entirely over
the phone and video, for a client who wouldn’t see it in person until it was finished.
Working within a fixed budget meant every rupee had to earn its place, no filler choices,
nothing added just to look complete. The pooja space got particular attention, an arched,
custom-built unit with ribbed glass panels and individually framed brass bells, not a standard
corner unit.
